Our Board of Directors is comprised of an extremely accomplished group of open water swimmers and experienced United States Coast Guard licensed pilots.
As a group, our board has completed seven (7) solo English Channel crossings, five (5) Catalina Channel crossings, four (4) Manhattan Island circumnavigations, two (2) Strait of Gibraltar crossings, and two (2) have attained the Triple Crown of Open Water Swimming. Furthermore, there are hundreds of other named/unnamed long-distance open water and ice swimming completions that this group has completed that afford us the perspective few have.

It is our mutual belief that an open water swimming organization should be solely operated for the benefit of the greater swimming community.
By creating a non-profit association and prioritizing safety, transparency, professionalism, accomplishment, the environment, and progressive best-practices, we want to help open water swimming evolve in a positive, progressive manner consistent with the generations of open water swimmers that have come before us. We also believe it’s our duty to maintain and promote the principles and integrity of marathon swimming.
As long-time residents of Northern California, member of the board understand the unique, amazing and beautiful place that we call home. In no way do we take any of it for granted as we know the balance of a region can be shifted in a very short amount of time. Given this, we consider ourselves stewards of our open water locales and want to promote, share, and protect the places we swim and the world around us.
