Independent, unbiased verification of a marathon swim attempt is an important part of our sport. Ratified and certified swims attempts are accomplished through the use of volunteer observers who are knowledgeable, trained, and objective in their interpretation of the rules, course descriptions, and the events that occur during swim attempts. The Northern California Open Water Swimming Association and Lake Tahoe Open Water Swimming Association provide a stipend to volunteer observers based on the course and swim being observed.

Vikingsholm: $195.00
Observers can select the date(s) and swim courses they wish to observe during the signup process. Length swims require arrival in Lake Tahoe by late afternoon the day of the swim. True Width and Vikingsholm swims require the Observer to arrive the evening before the swim. Unless otherwise arranged, all swims depart and return to Camp Richardson in South Lake Tahoe, CA.
